Mark Howell has worked for a major international law firm (as a corporate lawyer) in the UK and Egypt and a Canadian multinational telecoms company, and run his own photography, marketing and personal development businesses. He has founded an independent political party and served as Deputy Leader/Acting Leader of the 12th largest council in the UK, Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole (BCP Council).
Mark has board level experience in economic development, regeneration, housing and cultural and community development having served as Economy, Regeneration and Culture Portfolio Holder at BCP Council and a non-executive director/trustee for Dorset LEP, Bournemouth Town Centre BID, a social housing ALMO and a residential lettings company.
Mark has a degree in History and a Masters in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography and is a keen promoter of arts and culture, having established an arts development c.i.c. and a charity focused on developing a regionally significant cultural and community centre in Poole, served on the board of the Russell Cotes Museum and chaired a Cultural Action Group made of key cultural stakeholders in the BCP area.
