Hackney Child
I’ve just finished reading Hackney Child by Hope Daniels and Morag Livingstone. I recommend it highly.
I must confess Morag is also my business partner in Nutmeg Communications but she has done an excellent job in helping Hope to portray her experience of childhood within the care system. As a unitary authority councillor I have a responsibility to ensure children in care are not only protected from harm but are also given the stability and opportunities within the care environment for them to be able to hold their own once they leave. This book establishes a strong emotional connection with the reader and gave me a valuable insight into the mind of a child in care.
